GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

Your first writing assignment is very easy. All you have to do is complete the sentences with information about yourself. For each sentence mention three things. Here are the sentences:

1. I enjoy _____________.
2. I would never ___________.
3. I'm afraid of ___________.
4. I hate ___________.
5. I would like to ______________.

Example:
1. I enjoy dancing especially salsa and guajira, touring the island, and photography.
2. I would never go bungee jumping, travel to Irak, or cut my hair really short.
3. I'm afraid of losing my child, having a disease, and big creepy roaches especially when they fly.
4. I hate waiting in line, being stood up, and the "I don't care" attitude.
5. I would like to go on a cruise, own a home with an ocean view, and be debt-free.

Task: Now that you've learned something about me, it's your turn. Be creative. Be specific. Also, make at least one comment about what I wrote.

Date due: February 8, 2011

WELCOME TO BLOGGING

Hi! Welcome to English 1102. As part of the English class, we will be working on blogs. This will help you to practice your English in a different, and hopefully, a fun way. Throughout the semester you will be required to comment on my blog entries.

Your comments will count toward your assignment grade. At the end of each blog, a due date will be posted. Each blog is worth 15 points: 10 for content and 5 for punctuality. If the entry is late (up to 3 days), 5 points will be deducted. Entries posted later than 3 days will NOT be counted.

Remember, this is just another way to practice English so do the entry by yourself. Points will be given for your effort. No points will be deducted for errors. However, points will be deducted if entry is incomplete. In addition, work not done by you or using a translator for the complete entry will NOT be accepted.

Hope you enjoy the experience of blogging!
